Crescent Gardens, Carpet Replacement & Cleaning

Following on from last month's non-update success has not been forthcoming.

Predictably, two emails and one letter have yet to resolve the Companies House rebate issue - I have been assured it will be soon.

I still have not received any receipts (still no urgency though) but at least KM can now access this blog again.

My short visit to The Crescent earlier this month resulted in a chat with TB at No. 6 about the council's plans for the Crescent Gardens and Valley Gardens. Anyone interested in these should see TB and also consider attending the next Residents Association meeting. There was a good turn-out at the one earlier this month.

Topics covered are security (CCTV and lighting) related to car crime and drunken behaviour in the area as well as the council's dubious / unimaginative plans for the garden.

The roof and paintwork seems to have been very well done.

The garden is maturing and should look very nice this Spring.

I have not made much progress on the asset register although I know it's a good idea and the only way we can realistically set a budget and plan rather than hope that individuals can soak up costs of unexpected repairs. We are averting this at present by planning isolated works of high cost but once these are complete I am certain that most people would prefer to know that annual maintenance and insurance costs should be £xxx rising by circa x% annually.

This way would also make it easier for the job of co-ordinating the affairs to be transferred to another party in a structured way.

We certainly do need to look seriously at replacing the carpet and discuss how to go forward with issues like cleaning (internally, externally and windows).

Secretary
